What Are Your Yellow Shoes?

⭐ What are your Yellow Shoes?

Three weeks ago I asked this question from the TEDx stage.

The response was super positive and fun.

So I ask you -

What are the things, items, rituals or environments that when you wear, use or experience them, shift you into the most confident, most alive, most valuable version of you?

Not a substance. Not a shortcut.

A genuine, conscious cue that says to you — and to everyone around you —

"This is me. Turned up to full noise."

Mine started in Japan, seven years ago.

A pair of yellow shoes ‘yelled’ at me from a shelf.

I put them on and felt immediately, unmistakably myself — fun, confident, a little bold.

I've worn them to presentations, social occasions, client meetings and coffees ever since.

They're not just shoes.

They're a catalyst. A state-change trigger. A deliberate signal to my brain that it's ‘game on’.

Here's what I've learned from asking this question of people:

We all have our own versions of the Yellow Shoes.

Most of us just haven't named them yet.

And the ones who have — who consciously curate and activate these cues — show up differently to the moments that matter -

Where they need to be ‘fierce’ or just plain awesome.

Not just more confident.

More uniquely human - Most them.

In a world that's increasingly asking you to be more productive, more optimised, more AI-savvy...

Your Yellow Shoes are your very own motivational guru, your superhero cape.

The deliberate, human and gloriously imperfect signals that you're not going to be replaced anytime soon.

That you're here.

Live and Fully You.

So:

What are your Yellow Shoes?

Drop them in the comments. I genuinely would love to know.
